From Proto hydrogen to single ionized Helium

In 1896, E.C. Pickering observed Zeta Puppis hot star and discovered ionized helium lines. They were later obesvered in other hot stars such as Wolf-Rayet stars in Signus.

Niels Bohr, the founder of quantum mechanics, synthesized the energy quantization theory of Max Plank, the photons and energy quanta theory of Einstein and the Rutherford's model of atoms.

His theory showed that the spectrum of single ionized Helium corresponded exactly to Pickering's line series.
